Georges Cameras, Fujifilm, Casio and Profoto came together last night for an immersive and inspiring night of creativity inside CUPRA Sydney CBD. Nick ran a hands-on workshop which invited photographers to step directly into a live commercial-style shoot.

Georges Cameras had a dedicated BTS photographer there, so I was free to enjoy Nick’s (awesome) presentation, devour everything Benzin was serving and best of all, socialise! Still managed to take a few shots though, so enjoy these shots for now, and hopefully Nick puts together a feature down the line sharing his experience of the night along side shots taken by Georges Cameras.

Feeling grounded.

Just some sneaky BTS from yesterday’s awesome shoot at UNO studios where we were shooting a Pinarello Dogma F for O’Spire, an new bicycle shop opening in North Sydney early next year. Nick is a wizard in the studio, he absolutely nailed it. Look out for his final photos soon.

MAAP’s latest collab with Public Possession is pretty wild and Jen got her hands on it early and invited me to shoot it. Awesome hangs as always, was a super fun shoot!

Some photographers that use digital cameras whine when they have to go through 300 shots from a shoot. I mean seriously? What were you doing? Simply hoping that at least some of the 300 shots were going to be OK?

With film you’ve got to make every shot count and that means framing well, and often times making the decision to not hit that shutter button. I once overheard Nick suggest to another photographer to “pretend” that he had a roll of film in his camera, and perhaps try to take less, but more considered shots. I thought this was great advice!

On topic; our Melbourne based Photographer Curt Graham chose to use his Fuji GW690 III with 120 film which has only 8 shots per roll.

Last night Nick and and I were invited to join a select group of creatives at LaPorte Space in Rosebery, hosted by Nikon Australia.

Without knowing too much about the event, we went in expecting a PR event focused on their new entry level mirrorless camera, the Z50 II.

Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we would be treated to a presentation by guest speaker, Michaela Taylor, aka Kayla Tayla.

Always an awesome time shooting with Jen and Nick. It’s always fun, and fun brings out our best work!

June’s End Of Marrickville Meet was awesome. Bit bitter sweet for me as it was such a great day, but also so sad that we have to give up the space (government have bought the block and making apartments).

Whilst I usually bring a camera to EOMM’s, and in the late 90’s my sole job at EOMM was to take a photo of every single car that rocks up to post on JDMST forums, I get so deep into conversations at meets that I often come away without taking a single shot, so this time I thought I’d task Gina with covering the meet for me.

Gina’s been finding her ZEN in a LOT of things lately; piano, cycling, yoga, and now photography! Whilst she usually shoots with a 35mm lens I threw a spanner in the works by forcing her to shoot with my Sony FE 85mm F1.8 lens.

Here are the results. I think she smashed it!
