Last Light

rosamina_bold_justin_fox_sunset

I’ve been meaning to shoot with Mongolian beauty Rosamina again for a while, but the last 2 dates I’ve bailed out as I’ve just had my mind elsewhere (I’ve been spending SO much time playing The Division the past month. 100% out of control!). We got together last weekend and shot some photos in dying light. We got moody as we always do, here’s just one shot for now. Lovely, right?

Tom Clancy's The Division™2016-4-24-19-47-50

I’ve been playing The Division for the past 3 weeks solid. At first on Playstation (zengarageau) where I grinded to level 30, and for the past 2 weeks on PC with Ved (as Enki_333). I’ve now surpassed my Playstation character on the PC, and amazingly I’m using an Xbox controller on the PC setup which Ved’s lent me. I’m a die-hard mouse and keyboard first person shooter guy, but it looks like I’ve managed to somehow move with the times! I surprise myself!

So the game, it’s not all I hoped it would be, but there are a couple of things about it that have really surprised me; one thing is proximity chat in the Dark Zone. Basically, when you’re close to someone, or a group of people, you an hear each other talk. Simple, but this blew my mind and now when I’m running past people I’m communicating with them, saying G’Day, or yelling sorry if I’ve accidentally shot them during a cross battle. What’s more amazing is having a stranger befriend you, kill enemies with you, loot with you then turn around and shoot you down to steal everything you’ve looted. It’s real and it’s vicious out there!

Add to this a quite complicated, adjustable and layered character building system in which no 2 characters in The Division universe are likely to ever be the exactly same and you have one pretty amazing game.

So yeah. I’ve dropped the ball on life, LOL! Sorry (but not sorry!) to all the people I need to catch up with and all the things I have to do. I’ll be back in the real world soon!

The Surge was fucking amazing!

My guy.

My end game character. If you fight right, you get to keep the bits of armour from the enemies you come across so there’s lots of styles and stats to choose from, each piece can be upgraded to level 5. If you wear a matching set you get a special bonus. It’s all very Division!

RPG goodness.

I bought The Surge on my B’Day (May 16th, check my review below). I’ve been chipping away at it since. No other game I’ve ever played in my life has made me want to rage quit more than this game. It’s got to be the hardest game I’ve ever played!

There are 4 big bosses in the game and I couldn’t get past the 3rd boss for days. During those days I watched a lot of videos. On the 3rd day I watched other guys on Youtube play past the boss only to see them die over and over on the next level (which was, like the last level, a billion times harder than the level before). I decided that I’d not put myself through the pain and rather stop playing here, BUT! I gave it one last push and fucking hell I beat the bastard!

I farmed hard on the new level in order to build up my character (so as to make it easier for the final boss) and when I got there I died at least 20 times before beating him. Wasn’t as bad as the 3rd Boss, but it was damn bad and it makes me realise this game is torture but I’m such a sucker for this kinda shit!

SO stoked to have finished the game (especially that the game has no difficulty settings, nor glitches or console cheats). The ending sequence was great and made up for the lack of story throughout the game (it was all action baby!). Super smart level designs and I really appreciated the sound design (but I had to turn the music off for boss fights in order to pass them, the intense music was killing me!). Really loved the super intuitive and fairly deep RPG elements of the game. You can really build up your character how you like to play, and for me that was tanky as fuck with a heavy hard hitting weapon.

PS: When you finish the game your save file becomes “New Game+” and the game start over but with a whole bunch of new surprises (I’ve only just loaded in; you get to keep your gear and the first guy you fight feels like fighting another player/PVP!). Very very cool. I’m more than satisfied.

I ordered this (expensive!) VTS Toys Division action figure a year ago, and I never got it. I figured I got ripped off as it was on a strange/ugly site, and it was a pre-order, but hey, it came today!

It’s HUGE, and very much like a Barbie and Ken doll, pretty awkward! Love the detail but, super cool! #geekout!

BOWLS – Zoomer Down Under

The cool cats at BOWLS have just featured my Zoomer on their blog: http://www.bowlsla.com/articles/2wheeldivision/2wheeldivision-intel/zoomer-down-under – Very cool. Little bit embarrassing as the Zoomer’s still a work in progress, but happy to get the plug in any case so a massive hi to all of you guys and gals visiting from LA :)

The end of print

Today Status Corporation, the publisher of Auto Salon Magazine, made the announcement that Issue 85 will be its final edition to be printed. “Auto Salon Magazine has been a core division of ours” stated Status Corporation’s Director Mark Keo, “but the landscape of the publishing industry has changed dramatically over the last two years, and the GFC has had a marked impact on our advertising supporters.”

Big news, sad news, more here.

HNY!!!

Sydney Motorshow 2005

OK I know it’s NYE but I couldn’t help myself. I called a guy with a Subaru MY06 Liberty Tuned by STi. It’s not a “real” STi but one made by the STi division in Melbourne (300 were made and sold in 2006).

I’ve always had a soft spot for it since seeing one at the 2005 Motor Show. In Melbourne I got a good look at Glen’s one too which confirmed that I liked it.

Anyways, 35,000kms (low!) and the car was immaculate inside. The paint outside was perfect, not a scratch but the rear boot didn’t line up perfectly on one side. I assume a rear end accident, nothing major though (well I doubt it).

He wanted $34k and I offered $30k and we walk over to the bank to sort it out, unfortunately the guy wasn’t so keen. I’m not too fussed, hey I tried. We’ll see what happens next year!

Have a great one all!!!!!!
