Private Track Day

Yesterday I had a Private Track Day at Wakefield in the GT-R. Glad to say the leaks are sorted, frustrated the car is so laggy down low so I’m now planning to get the car re-tuned to monster spec.

Had a blast though. Rocked up late as usual. Felt very nervous in the car for the first session out but picked up pace as the day went on. I ended up cracking my fastest lap on my last outing of the day. A 1.10.2. Tyres have pretty much gone off, shame as there’s plenty of tread but they’ve been sitting there for years (no one to blame but myself!).

Got Alain on the way to the track (he even had a go at the GT-R and spun it around haha) and Alain drove me home too which was a bonus (plus he’s great company). Really excited about the re-tune now. As always, whenever I drive this thing I love it more and more.

S2T Paddle Shifters

Got my S2T Aluminium DSG paddle shifters (thanks Kevin!) and an OEM set to graft them on to.

All installed. So happy.

OEM plus. They look subtle, feel solid, expensive and tough.

Downshift

The Downshift boys from QLD had their first ever Sydney meet yesterday at Fairfield Showgrounds. The meet was held outdoors, in the oval (instead of the undercover area most car clubs use), which was different. The sun was beating down pretty hard at 4-6PM but at 6.30 sunset kicked in and with the DJ spinning tunes it felt just right.

Was a chilled out day, as expected. Much more down tempo from the hectic Mega Meet last Friday night. I’m exhausted, but it’s my day off today (track day tomorrow!).

PS: More photos from the Downshift meet here.

Kids too!

Domo’s going to be happy in his new home :)

Dent Hero Dent Removal Day #5 went off, as expected! Much magic was performed throughout the day. If you missed out on getting your dents removed, be sure to be on the lookout for our 6th Dent Removal Day in April.

Fuel 4 Charity

f4c

Organising a charity event is something that VWGolf.net.au moderators myself, Christina Lock, Jose Togle and Marco Contreras have wanted to do for some time.

2 nights ago we had a meeting with Sergio Capozzi from ALL STARS and after much discussion plans have been put into action.

Rather than organising one single event, we’ve decided to set up an umbrella organisation with a view to do multiple events in the year, all for different charity foundations.

We’re excited!

Our first event will be a car show where all the proceeds raised from owners of the cars on show, traders who will be invited to run stands and spectators will be donated to The Leukaemia Foundation.

Our first event will kick off in June 2013.

Please like our page and spread the news (much appreciated). Also, please get in touch if you’d like to get involved, we need all the help we can get!

Mega Meet

Last year we counted 1200+ cars, this year it was so big cars couldn’t get in! Our Zen stand was mobbed. We had a great night!

I’ve been reading MOTOR magazine forever. It’s my fave Aussie car mag and I’m VERY proud to have Zen featured over 2 pages in this month’s issue! SO HAPPY! :)

From screen to reality

So nice to see designs come to life. The Yokohama 86 (which I designed the graphics for) was dropped off to Zen today. I even got to drive it off the truck. It’s an auto, which kinda surprised me, but hey I drove my cousin’s manual one a week ago and I was curious to see if the auto was any good, or not. I took it for a spin and yeah, it wasn’t any good (the manual was way more engaging!). The car is going to live with us for a bit, should brighten up our space that’s for sure!
