Hakata-Maru Ramen

hakatamaru

whiteramen
I went for the White Tonkotsu.

redramen
Jess went for the Red Tonkotsu.

Jess has a Japanese friend who introduced her and I to Hakata-Maru Ramen last weekend. So good as I’d been craving Ramen for a week! They’re unfortunately located at the Market City Food Court, that aside I went for the White Tonkotsu. The soup was delicious and I absolutely smashed it, so strong eaters will definitely be wanting 2 serves!

The Sparrow’s Mill

kfc1
Choices choices. I love KFC!

kfc2
Winner winner. Smaller pieces than most, super crunchy and not at all greasy.

kfc3
One of my fave things about eating Korean is the sides, especially the potato noodles.

kfc4
Perfect for this cold weather and I have a thing for subtle dishes.

kfc5
Seafood pancake wasn’t a great choice, bit greasy and of-course the seafood wasn’t fresh.

Another day another shoot! Jasmine (who was really fun to shoot) rocking our brand new Zen Garage Script Crewneck. No concept this time, just a straight out shoot as it’s always nice to try to get our new gear shot (she’s wearing an XS btw). Find the crewneck in our shop.

Aki-asahi.com Leatherette Covers

leatherette_gf1
From Japan with speed and love. The GF1 kit has much more coverage than the GF6 kit.

leatherette_gf6
Love the detail on this kit, they even made a little cover for the back.

leatherette_gf1_2
Less is more? All logos wiped out!

Modifier for life! I had a little downtime today so I installed my Aki-asahi.com leatherette covers on both the GF1 and the GF6. Installation was super easy, the GF6 now looks a little less shit, and the GF1 looks great with or without these covers tbh!

Pew! Pew! Pew!

lightningbolts_transfer
Placement right the second time, was great to have Josh and Loic both make sure symmetry was right.

tora_sumi_justinfox_lightning_bolt_tattoo
It’s been around 20 years since I got my last tattoo’s. I’d totally forgotten what the pain felt like. The outline was a sharp feeling, the colouring in a much nicer pain. It all just felt really good!

tora_sumi_justinfox_lightning_bolt_tattoo_2
Done in no time, super tight work by Josh. Pew Pew Pew! Let me elbow you!

krysti_tatto_2
Next up was Krysti who was getting one of her own pieces on her forearm.

krysti_tatto_1
Her original drawing was reduced 20% before final placement.

krysti_tatto_4
Reducing the size of the piece didn’t phase Josh, who put an amazing amount of detail into such a small piece.

krysti_tatto_3
Krysti’s worn these same shoes for all times she’s ever gotten tattoos done.

krysti_tatto_5
Amazing detail. Keep in mind that Krysti in tiny, the hand is the size of a 5cent piece.

krysti_tatto_6
Krysti was super happy with the end result.

Today Krysti and I were booked in to get tattoos at Tora Sumi.  Krysti got one of her original pieces done (she’s rad like that) and I wanted little lightning bolts on my elbows, something I’ve wanted for ages, so long ago now I can’t even remember why I wanted them!

Was such a cool experience, from start to end. Hours later my elbows feel sunburnt, and I already want more ink!

I shot Bettina today for BLACKHAWX. You can view the full feature on Zen Garage.

Was a fun shoot. Betty’s a good mate and an awesome model. Was a rainy grey day today but I wasn’t at all nervous about shooting in low light. Shooting smoke was challenging but I’m really happy with how the shots came out.

Flowers

It’s been many years since I’ve shot a nude model. I’ve been wanting to though and it manifested itself last weekend.

My muse is crazy about flowers, so we got to the Sydney Flower Markets and bought a shitload (not an understatement) of roses. I’ve never been into flowers (yep I’m one of those guys) and have only ever bought them because of how they make people feel, but I’ve always hated it that I don’t feel good buying them, call me selfish but I prefer to give presents that I’d like to keep for myself!

Having said all that… I think I’m converted. Seeing these flowers go from messy wet bunches to de-stalked individual flowers, and deconstructing them down even further to just petals created a new appreciation of flowers for me. I ended up spending more time focussing on flowers than skin!

I hope you like these pics as much as my muse and I do, if you do decide to leave comments, please be nice!
