OK, so day made!
I had 2 punctures over the past 2 days on a bicycle (wasn’t even riding it, was just fitting new tyres but there was something sharp in the lining of one of them), and this morning I felt the need to go for a ride (rain, hail or shine!), so I get to my car to pack the bike and well damn, my Honda Jazz had a flat tyre.
I dropped my Jazz off to my local tyre shop (ABC Tyrepower in Rosebery) without a booking (did the same with Gina’s Audi TT last time and these guys were awesome), and like last time, these guys in the office have just got the best vibe going on. It’s obvious (to me) that these guys love their jobs. We’re not just talking smiles here, we’re talking laughs, and on a Monday!
A few hours later I got an SMS to let me know my car was ready to be picked up. I walk in to pick up my Jazz and the boss asks me to come behind the desk to see his screen, turns out he had the ZEN Garage web site up and he asks “is this you?!”.
He loved it all, and asked if his son (who’s into JDM) could come along to our meets!
I ended up yapping with him and some of the staff about ZEN, the concept of ZEN (they totally got it!), and cars.
He ended up not charging me for the flat tyre! I insisted that I wanted to pay, but he wasn’t having it. Absolute legends! Faith in humanity restored. The least I can do is share the story and give them a plug.
