Headed down to the Lost At E Minor party last Thursday night which was held in a lane way in Haymarket.

Extreme Gelati DJs were banging out great tunes, artist James Jirat Patrodoon splattered the walls with fluoro work (some of it animated too).

Must get James to save me a few of these prints for Zen Garage!

This guy was doing haircuts in the corner. Bizarre?! I’ve been meaning to get a haircut lately. Not had one since I was 15… thinking short back and sides for a change, but wasn’t man enough to get it done on the night!

These refreshing Milagro drinks went down WAY too easy.

Tein Flex coilovers.

SSR Meshies!

… for fried chicken! Nanami invited me over for fried chicken last night. Can never resist good friend chicken!!! ;)

MKVR32 vs MX-5.
Not sure what it is about making my life harder for myself, creating problems to keep life interesting? Maybe it’s just a guy thing, or maybe it’s just me?
Last week I decided, out of the blue, to put my MKVR32 Golf up for sale. I put it on forums, as well as carsales. Once I had put the word out I couldn’t help but refresh forum threads, and check messages on my phone in hope that someone would just buy it.
Why did I put it up for sale? The MX-5 has lots to do with it. It’s just such a fun toy car to play with, and I want to modify it much more, and I figured that selling the Golf would give me plenty of cash to play with… but that’s just so illogical as the toy then takes priority over everything else. I quickly realised I was doing it all wrong and I’ve since removed all the classifieds posts, even the listing on carsales (that was a waste of $100!).
I’ve just got to chill out on the MX-5 and stop buying so much shit for it. It’s a toy. It’s never going to be my main daily driver because I’m not sure I could live with it (image issues, and there will always be times when I’m in the MX-5 yet wish I was in my other car/s).

We sponsored the TotoyaFest 2013 10th Anniversary car show yesterday at Castle Hill, was a damn hot on the rooftop, but our Zen stand gave us ample shade.
I took a few shots of the cars that took my fancy, all the photos on Zen: http://zengarage.com.au/2013/10/toyotafest-2013
Last night Alain invited us to the grand opening of his new restaurant Xangpuak in Green Valley. I’m not a huge fan of travelling out west, but there was no way I was going to miss out on this!
The restaurant was full, the staff (Alain’s whole family) were beautiful. Food came out so fast and it was all mindblowingly amazing. So good I went back again tonight! Tonight I ordered a Pad Thai, massive test right? But damn the Pad Thai blew minds, we smashed it and had to order another one.
So proud of Alain, who was working hard tonight and last night. So jealous that he’s been eating this amazing food at home ever since he was a kid, but hey so happy he’s now sharing! I’m planning on being a regular, as there’s SO much more food on the menu I have yet to try!

Love the logo.

Alain, who was so professional (lol). So strange to be waited on by him!

Prawn entree was delicious.

Satay sauce was so good.

If you love ox tongue, you’ve got to order this off the char grill. Delicious!

Don’t order boiled rice, instead order the sticky rice which you can eat with your hands. Awesome.

Beef Salad was so fresh.

You must order the pork. Taste explosion!

Pow Pow Pow! Char Grilled Chicken had so much flavour.

Alain’s dish! The salmon salad had me sweating, but it’s damn amazing and was a favourite of many.

Lart Nah is a dish I always look for on a Thai menu, and it’s never there. SO excited when I saw it on the menu at Xangpuak. So excited to try all the other traditional dishes on the menu.

I was way too stuffed for dessert but I stole some of Krysti’s and gahhhhh, my gawd. Crispy pastry instead of that doughy stuff you usually find on friend ice cream? Genius!

Initially I was so upset that my coilovers didn’t get here in time for the track day… but fuck I had a great time driving the MX-5 on stock suspension out at Wakefield yesterday.

Have always loved BBS RS’s although I never thought I’d ever own a set.
I spotted an immaculate set on Yahoo Auctions Japan which was set to go over $2,500 (which apparently is about right for some freshly built ones), was about to place a bid on them, but then this set came up locally for $1500 and I didn’t hesitate to grab them!
I’m looking forward to being a wheel whore with the MX-5. I’ve got a set of Watanabe’s on order. A set of SSR meshies waiting for me at JDMyard and now this set of BBS RS’. Happy Days!
