Pretty awesome show on at White Rabbit right now (go!).

KOI.

Shots I took of her finished piece (1:1 scale guys! SO RAD!).
I’ve got a huge mouth and it’s been hard to keep this one under wraps but I can share away now! Nanami’s been invited to create art for Gears of War 4, specifically armour and a weapon too!
There are 10 international artists in total, the top 5 get immortalised in the game! Getting ZEN logos into in Need for Speed was pretty special to me, so I’m gunning for Nana’s armour to win.
Her piece is inspired by her Japanese heritage (SAMURAI!), and the Biohazard symbol was inspired by the tattoo on my arm (so cool!).
PLEASE VOTE FOR HER DESIGN!!! You just have to click on her design and vote by signing in with Facebook (one click!). Thanking you all in advance!

Always hard to know when a painting is “finished”, but I think she’s finished!!!
Haven’t painted since high school really (where I was so obsessed with creating art that I jigged most classes to paint), but my mate Kristi inspired me to paint again and this is what’s come out!
Not sure painting is for me right now, it’s just too slow a process!!! Might save my return to painting for another time down the line.

Always stops me in my tracks. Rosalie Gascoigne.

Always pay a visit to this guy, a James Gleeson piece I studied in high school
Went to see Frida with Krysti, but it was a sold out event (what?!).
So proud of my little kumquat Nanami Cowdroy who’s artwork is splattered all over Westfield Chatswood!!! She’s killin’ it. Holy Shit! We’re all killin’ it!

I went to support Nana who was invited to be a part of a panel discussion at this year’s inaugural CURVY Women’s Creative Conference at aMBUSH, Central Park.
There were 8 women on the panel and the topic was “The Art of making it”. The session kicked off with everyone introducing themselves with their story on how they got to where they are now (Nana’s story was particularly awesome, it really came from the heart).
Topics touched on Art vs. Design, making a living doing what you love. Having to do your time with crap work to make ends meet/gain experience. Business; Art schools should teach business, how to invoice, connections to legal help with agreements, etc. The topic of kids and a lack of time was brought up too; priority shifts as well as success stories of mothers who are creative directors at the top of their game. Social media, Instagram, how do Artists keep up with the pace of social media marketing. Advertising targeted specifically at women, connectivity, ultimately a lot was brought up in such a short period of time!

Get Arty on the deck, cause the sun was just too nice.

Krystal’s got a really distinguishable and unique style. This piece inspired by my aquarium!

Krysti’s painting is off to a killer start. Such a mature painting. I love it.

Man painting is hard! But hey, not bad for day #1 right?!
Spent the day getting arty with 2 arty farts, Krysti and Krystal. Mad tunes, good vibes, such a rad arvo and I’m truly happy to be painting again. It’s been over 15 years since I’ve painted. I’m painting a portrait of Krystal, it’s not right, yet, but I think I’ll get there in time!

1 2 3 GO! Completely painless spot to be honest!

Took longer than I expected. Loic did such a great job.

Loic and I post tattoo, the guy’s a champ!

Hey Cheryl! Cheers for taking photos, and holding my hand haha.
Got a small tattoo done today by Loic at Tora Sumi in Balmain. I’ve always had a thing for 8’s (because Asian!), and since all the tattoo’s on my body are ying yangs and circular/cyclic, I thought I’d get the infinity symbol, but flipped on its side to also represent an 8. So happy. I’m ecstatic about it, and despite how small the tattoo is, it’s super significant for me and marks my 40th quite nicely.
