Grips and seatpost just came in, on they go!

You guys would not believe how awesome it rides! So so cool!

I had bought some Tektro 559 long reach front brakes, they looked the goods. As soon as I went to fit them up I quickly realised they were still way too short to reach the 650C rim’s braking surface. Super bummed. I ended up having to fabricate a small piece of thick steel to make the stock front caliper work.

Had our first BMU Bike Night @ Zen last night. Wasn’t as busy as I had hoped, but it was a great night despite. More pics on Zen.

Also found this on the side of the street in the city. Got excited when I realised it was a Gary Fisher, got disappointed when I saw the crappy front fork, then got excited again when I saw that the frame was made in the USA.

Not sure what to do with it, we’ll see!

The Bikes Move Us forum was running on old forum software, and was being attacked by spambots so badly I had to turn off automatic new registrations and approve members manually (much work).

With a little help from Nyssa (my new web developer) I finally got around to upgrading it to the latest stable release of vBulletin. Of-course it looked like vomit on install (our old theme was no longer compatible) so I’ve spent a bit of time tweaking it to look better. Visit: http://www.bikesmoveus.com.au/

I really wanted to hit McDonalds on the way home for a cold Coke and a new Lamb Burger but Nelson being the chong that he is wanted to eat some hardcore Hong Kong style cafe food. Check this french toast out, it was so so so hardcore.

Zi twisted my arm to join him and a few guys at Loftus on Sunday. I didn’t want to go, but I knew I had to because I’ve done nothing in relation to fitness for so long.

Surprisingly I did AOK. I didn’t make it up the big hill, but I didn’t feel out of breath, nor down on energy. The lap took us 2hrs. That’s twice as long as what we used to do it in, but I’m chuffed I did alright. Looking forward to riding again (the weather was perfect!).

For too long I’ve been wanting to get on the bike. I finally bought a trainer from the boys at Cycling Express, of-course I’ve set it up in front of the TV for some Tour de France action!
