Because 8’s my number!!! I’ve placed a small sticker run on order with Nippy, but I kinda need this on a T too though. Will see if I can make that happen!

I lose sleep when I gutter a rim. My mum does too!!!
Thanks to The Wheel Man for repairing my mums guttered wheels on her A250. These wheels were a little harder to touch up than usual, but then again so were bronze Japanese wheels in the past. These guys come to you (mobile wheel repair). Great job as always!

Finally SOLD! Didn’t mind that it took a few years… always thought they’d go on another NA8 one day (or even Ved’s MK1 Golf!). Needed the money though, Mia pee’d in my bed whilst I was gone, that’s how upset she was!!! I’ve had to buy a new mattress, really wanted a Tempur, but nowhere near enough funds right now to justify the cost. I ended up with a pretty interesting choice, might blog about it after a few more sleeps.
Hung out with young car obsessed 14yr old Anthony today. We dropped past Reinart Design unannounced, which is how we like to do things at Zen. IE: We don’t like workshops ‘preparing’ for our visits! #keepitreal !!! Justin at Reinart was super chill, he even moved this beauty into the light for me to shoot. Dead set legend!
Also caught up with Jim, who answered a callout I put up on Facebook the other day. Jim moved from Sydney to HK 10 years ago, how time flies. He runs an automotive workshop here in HK and he gave me an all access pass to shoot whatever I liked, over all 4 floors! I’ll be writing up a feature on Zen Garage soon!

Old school cool (forever a Celica fan).

Sign a fair few of these a year!

Matt Hart from The Escape Road, and Adam from Downshift.

And Skaifey had a few words too, legend!

Aussie Speedhunter Matt Everingham.
I got to do 3 hot laps in a #TR86 race car today on the full GP circuit (my fave!) at Sydney Motorsport Park Eastern Creek, we were given access to Mark Skaife, and Neil Crompton too. Was a great day, great vibes!
The car I got this time around was meant for a much taller driver. I could barely reach the pedals, and couldn’t see over the dashboard!!! I even hung a couple of wheels off the dirt because I just didn’t feel comfortable pushing the car. I had Pro Race Car Driver Ben Porter in the car with me so that was kinda nerve wrecking as well, though I’m sure he was WAY more scared than I was with me behind the wheel haha! Still, ANY excuse to get onto the full circuit for hot laps (such a privilege to get to drive at EC).

Any excuse to wear a suit, right?!
Remember that scene in F&F Tokyo Drift where it’s a nightclub, but in a carpark? Well that’s been Dennis from Night Shift’s dream ever since, and it’s awesome that the guy has teamed up with HIN, to represent the franchise in Australia.
Star and I were invited to the VIP launch night at Establishment (swanky as!). Super excited for the guys, and I’ll be more than happy to support the HIN Australia crew.

Didn’t make it to my own meet last night (was drunk by lunch time!), but some pics are making their way online.
Pic above of the S15 that we (ZEN) built for Need For Speed, which has now changed hands once more. Great to see it’s looking just as clean as when I sold it!
Kudos to all who went, and thanks to all who took photos for those who didn’t. More photos from other photographers here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1777400605856951/?active_tab=discussion
David from Import Bible sent me a message the other night to ask if I could try and take a front on shot of the Old & New 997 Slant Nose at SEMA for him. I did, and this is what he’s come up with (so good!).

Yup even concept cars rock Toyo R888’s in the US!

Still the dream (with RB26 heart of-course!).

Tuner section (again, 86 was on Toyo’s!).

And yeah, this stopped me in my tracks, and hit me like a 2 tonne heavy thing.

Go Adam! Their Forza set-up definitely needed some work (not inked and some dummy mode where the cars were auto braking).

John and Simon scored this S14 for their LA stay. I was quick to grab a ride just for the experience!

Yeah roads are pretty damn fucked up in LA!!!

And back to Shake Shack to try their normal ShackBurger and awwwww yeah, super dirty, tasty, the complete opposite to In-N-Out’s much cleaner burger, but I love it!
Last day in the US, we checked out the Petersen Automotive Museum, just 20 minutes drive from our hotel. On show was ‘The Art of Bugatti’, but we went straight for the vault tour!
No photos allowed in the Vault Tour, such a shame as there were some pretty amazing cars underground, the one-of-one 1925/34 ‘Round Door’ Rolls, a Mercedes used by Sadam Hussein and much more.
Well worth checking out if you have a few hours to burn. I couldn’t get my eyes off the McLaren F1, even going back to level 2 to check it out twice.

Toyo have published a feature with some of my shots from SEMA, so rad! Check it out: http://toyotires.com.au/toyo-blog/673-toyo-tires-owns-sema
