I had Dylan and Liam; a couple of students from the JMC Academy, approach me at a previous EOMM about an interview for a documentary they were making on the Sydney car scene. The guys came over to mine yesterday to film, was super chill. Their open ended questions let me ramble (which is what I do best haha!) and they got some footage of the GT-R too. Looking forward to what these guys come up with (and also who else they interview!). I’ll be sure to share their finished doco when it’s ready!
…but not when they set up a defect station down the road from your car meet.
Last night’s meet was awesome. So many new cars and faces. A great turnout considering last month’s hired Police attendance would have scared many away, and the extra $5 entry to pay for extra security would have turned a few people off too (not to mention how freezing cold it was!).
Just as we were packing up rumours started spreading about a defect station. Once it was confirmed my heart sank. A defect station was set up not at the meet, not outside of the meet, but the Beaurepaires 3.4km away on the corner of the Great Western Hwy.
Coincidence? I think not. And that’s what’s sad about it.
The JDM Plates I consulted on and designed with myPlates.com.au are finally available for all Sydney Japanese car enthusiasts to purchase!!!!!!!!
PS: Japanese translation: “Nihon no kokunai ichiba” – a fancy way of saying “JDM”!
I’m not a huge fan of photos of girls with cars. Love some of the retro stuff (and all of the Pirelli Calendars!), but bad taste workshop girly calendars have ruined it for me.
Always up for a challenge though! Our shop manager Cordy asked me to shoot her and her car which now rolls on Toyo tyres. Safety counts so it wasn’t hard to convince Cordy to pay a little more and go for a quality tyre rather than a no-brand cheapy!
I love telling stories with my image sets so I played to my strengths, and that means mostly leaving the finals as shot (I wasn’t about to go all automotive photographer mode and start removing reflections and other imperfections!).
Due to popular demand we’ve printed another 50 ZEN x TOYO Track Day T’s (for safety reasons you have to wear long sleeves when driving on the circuit). They sold out overnight last time so I expect these to sell out pretty quick too.
Still so chuffed to have Toyo as a sponsor. Sounds crazy, but I swear I love the brand more than they do!!!

Ved and I covered the Festival of 86 in Canberra last weekend for Toyo Tyres Australia. I got to meet the Toyota 86’s Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada who Toyota flew in from Japan. Was a great day out in general, no traffic, perfect weather, great food and I especially dug just being in the Caddy with Ved on a road trip!
