Had a fun shot with Sophie Moyle last weekend. Sophie’s an artist and a keen violinist too so we got along like a house on fire. We shot both at my place, and the beach house. You can check out all the final pictures on my photography portfolio: http://www.justinfoxphoto.com/sophie

Here’s a raw, unedited straight off the camera.
Had another shoot today with Rosamina. I’m getting the hang of the Sony a7S, using the viewfinder instead of the screen all day, still awkward (my shut eye won’t stay shut I feel like I need to wear an eye patch!!!!!) but I’m getting there! I might even make the move to start playing with Lightroom?! I’ve got it, but have never used it.
PS: All the edited photos are now live on my photography portfolio site: http://www.justinfoxphoto.com
I’m a WordPress guy (well, an HTML guy actually, wish I could turn back time and dominate the web like I did once in the 90’s lol), but recently I’ve been thinking about setting up a photography folio of some sort as tumblr is just not cutting it (6 months into shooting and I’ve got too many images now, and with tumblr I can’t re-organise or sort images).
I started looking into some WordPress base themes but failed to find the right solution (short of hacking to death and using plugins to make it all happen). My developer flatmate suggested I look at Squarespace. I did some research, played with a demo for a few hours and found it pretty damn impressive in regards to getting your content onto a site as quickly and as easily as possible. It’s a bit buggy, and starts to take a toll on your browser (I had to close the window a couple of times and log back in to get it up to speed again).
You can check out my work in progress so far (I signed up for 12 months at around $170 with the use of a coupon code). PS: NSFW Nudity Warning!). Visit: http://www.justinfoxphoto.com

Some of my photos from a shoot with Shontelle made it to Arsenic Magazine (such a rad mag!).

Mon shot by IVORY LUX for Zen Garage. So Fashion. Love this shoot, so much. Thanks to the amazing Breanna Espina for making this happen. More on Zen Blog: http://www.zengarage.com.au/2014/11/zen-babe-mon-shot-by-ivory-lux/

Carl Zeiss UV Filter. So clear that it’s a bit trippy.

Feels good to hold, but the springy shutter button feels a bit cheap and nasty.
The decision was made to upgrade to a Sony a7S with Zeiss 55mm F1.8. Daniel from OFIM put me on to a good deal with Marcus at digiDIRECT in Westfield’s Bondi Junction. I ended up taking the camera home, and bought a Zeiss UV Filter to protect the lens, a new memory card too.
The camera comes with 2 batteries! That’s pretty cool. The charger is pretty slim, and there’s a USB/wall charger too so I had both batteries charging in no time. It’s substantially bigger and heavier than my GF6 setup, but it’s nowhere near as heavy as Matt or Ved’s DSLR setups. The focussing feels slower than my GF6, either way I’m looking forward to playing with this camera!
Had a great shoot yesterday with Malaysian girl Cara Lee, a little pocket rocket who brought along heaps of energy. Always makes a huge difference when you can converse well with your models! Follow Cara on Instagram: @nomediocre_x
Had a snappy shoot with Jaymee yesterday. Jaymee reached out to me on Facebook after seeing photos I took with Shontelle, she was more than happy to pay for a shoot but I’m still not so comfortable with charging (needs more thought!), and I was having a good day, so I just said yes!
I’d like to keep shooting just for the fun of it, but then again I do want to upgrade to a full frame camera after playing around with Matthew Mead’s setup last weekend at the Zen Photowalk. Hopefully I’ll be upgrading tomorrow thanks to internet friends who chimed in with lots of great suggestions on my Facebook profile.
