Another day another shoot! Jasmine (who was really fun to shoot) rocking our brand new Zen Garage Script Crewneck. No concept this time, just a straight out shoot as it’s always nice to try to get our new gear shot (she’s wearing an XS btw). Find the crewneck in our shop.

I shot Bettina today for BLACKHAWX. You can view the full feature on Zen Garage.
Was a fun shoot. Betty’s a good mate and an awesome model. Was a rainy grey day today but I wasn’t at all nervous about shooting in low light. Shooting smoke was challenging but I’m really happy with how the shots came out.

It’s been many years since I’ve shot a nude model. I’ve been wanting to though and it manifested itself last weekend.
My muse is crazy about flowers, so we got to the Sydney Flower Markets and bought a shitload (not an understatement) of roses. I’ve never been into flowers (yep I’m one of those guys) and have only ever bought them because of how they make people feel, but I’ve always hated it that I don’t feel good buying them, call me selfish but I prefer to give presents that I’d like to keep for myself!
Having said all that… I think I’m converted. Seeing these flowers go from messy wet bunches to de-stalked individual flowers, and deconstructing them down even further to just petals created a new appreciation of flowers for me. I ended up spending more time focussing on flowers than skin!
I hope you like these pics as much as my muse and I do, if you do decide to leave comments, please be nice!

Just another day. 6am. It’s cold and dark outside, but it’s time to get up. 6.30am. Hit that snooze button, brush teeth, do hair, apply makeup, get dressed and get to work. Just another day.
First photoshoot with the GF6! Wasn’t an easy one either as I had all sorts of strange issues with the yellow lights in Jess’ wardrobe, and of-course the changing light outside as the sun was rising. But practise makes perfect, right?! Really happy with how the shots came out, and how the story reads too (Jess literally had to get ready for work!).
Last Sunday I spent the day shooting JoJo at my place (she’s heaps of fun and cute as a button!). I was hoping for heaps of natural light (as my trusty GF1 loves it) but unfortunately it was a rainy day. I thought about postponing, but after a few words with some photographer friends (especially Matthew Mead who gave me words of encouragement) I decided to accept the challenge, give it a go, and try something different.
You’re meant to shoot with the light behind you, but I spent most of the day shooting silhouettes on purpose. I’m really happy with the end results. My fave pics below, more photos from the day on Zen Garage: http://zengarage.com.au/2013/11/jojo

Shooting into the light. Love this shot. Captures the grey day. JoJo’s pose is natural and her face looks amazing.

Had plenty of light for this shot so it came out normal (not silhouetted). JoJo hates this shot, but I love it, one of my faves.

Hair up! One of JoJo’s fave shots (it’s currently her facebook profile image!).

I went for a few fully silhouetted shots with some interesting results.

My fave shot of the day. I love it that the background is blown out, and that JoJo needs more light, it’s the wrong thing to do when shooting in low light, but it makes for a dynamic result.

Spent last Saturday shooting Holly at my place in new V2LAB and illest gear from the US (for Zen Garage). Was fun to shoot for a change! You can view all my photos fro the day on Zen: http://zengarage.com.au/2013/08/holly/
Shooting at Zen Garage is fun, but we’ve done it a fair few times now and wanted to shoot somewhere different. It was decided that we would shoot at my place because I have a lot of toys, and stuff (?!).
Model for the day was Breanna Espina Smith. Photographer Matthew Mead. I’m a massive Mead fan, so I know the shots are going to turn out great. And Bree’s just bigger than life. She’s dead set gorgeous, super photogenic and heaps of fun to work with. Really, this girl should be famous by now!
I’ll be sure to post Matt’s shots when they’re done!
