Genuine Ralliart mirrors

Installed some genuine discontinued Ralliart mirrors today.

Ralliart mirror left, stock mirror right.

The mirrors use slightly wide mirror glass which makes visibility a little strange but way better than what I was expecting (I’ve heard a few people say that they couldn’t see shit out of them, have read the same thing online too). Getting out of Zen Garage is difficult, but I had great vision with the mirrors. Driving on the street was perfect and I don’t miss the massive mirrors at all. :)

I scored these Ralliart mirrors a week ago. I’ve loved them ever since seeing them on a Ralliart equipped EVO at the 2005 Sydney Motor Show.

They’re powered (whereas all replicas are manual) and as expected, there’s some wear and tear at the very tops of both sides in the clear coat, something I might look into restoring in future which wold be well worth it as they’ve been out of production for years and they fetch over a thousand a set on eBay if they’re mint (there’s a set on there now for $1400AUD!).

Washed the car this morning and fitted the genuine vortex generator. Instructions were fantastic and the fitment is perfect! Love brand new genuine goods :)

New floor mats

Michael Koval from Xtreme Motorsports dropped in today with some new Ralliart floormats for me. Check him out, he’s smiling, his Toyota BB is too :)

I was smiling as well. They’re genuine (I hate fake shit) and despite not being the exact model for my car the front mats were a good fit and freshen up the interior a lot (dark is good!).

Alignment = done

At Spinning Wheel this morning.

Yes back to work, car is sitting nice and low and it just feels amazing to drive now.

Loving the EVO, so much so that the massive new dent on the front drivers side guard really upsets me, happened the other night when a drunken lady marched right into my car and fell over the bonnet. Won’t be an easy fix as it’s an aluminium panel… :(

EVO IX update

New Hankook Ventus R-s3 tyres.

Tein Mono Flex coilovers.

Genuine OEM Vortex Generator.

400km/tank, phew! Not as bad as I thought!

I’ve been down with food poisoning for the past few days, spent most of it sleeping and feeling sorry for myself. This afternoon Zi let me know my suspension was in, itching to get out of the house I endured 1st gear traffic for 1.5hrs to get to Smithfield to have my coilovers installed.

Zi surprised me with a genuine vortex generator which the previous owner never got fitted, sweet! Also nice to know the car was upgraded at the factory with the ‘performance pack’ which included Bilstein shocks and forged BBS rims. All great news, music to my ears. Traffic sucked on the way home too… but hey… WELL WORTH IT!

More on this update on my JDMST Build Thread.

Miles’ B’day

B’Day boy, chillin’ out eating some cheese pre-party.

Richie brewed up some special (India Pale Ale) B’Day beer.

The cake table. Jamie and Richie went to town with the party decorations!

Healthy dips and lots of naughty finger food too.

A photo a month.

Jade. We have happy little guests!

Deb and Koby, who’s really into dinosaurs right now.

Andrew, Lachlan & Jayden

Eve and Jaydon, who’s not sure if he likes chocolate coated strawberry’s or not.

Cake cutting time!

Jamie broke 2 mixers making this cake.

And what a surprise inside, the kids loved it!

Mum played a traditional game where she laid out items on the ground, each representing a different path in life. Miles went for the calculator which represents business, despite Richie yelling out for him to grab the cash HAHA.

B’Day boy Miles was pretty chillax all day.

Take away lolly bags!

Masuya

Nigorizake (cloudy sake) was recommended by our friendly waiter. We tried both versions, this one in particular had a fruity apple flavour.

Sashimi was amazing as usual.

Blood red tuna sushi took me back to Japan. I could have eaten just that all night long.

All sorts of goodness on a plate. We had many more amazing dishes, just too in the zone (eating) to take photos!

Nanami’s Mum treated us to an awesome feast at Masuya last night. She’s a local there, and called beforehand to make sure they’d hit it out of the park (and they sure did!). Definitely my fave place for sashimi and sushi now, no doubt.

JDMST T’s

Finally got off my bum and got these T’s printed. Initially I was using Redbubble, a print on demand service. Whilst they print on American Apparel T’s the print itself was crap (digital printing). Screen Printing > Digital Printing any day. Find them (and a lot more new goodies) in the Zen online shop: http://zengarage.com.au/shop
