Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken

Walked past this hole in the wall on Liverpool Street a week ago and have been craving it ever since. Finally had an opportunity to try it and it didn’t disappoint! Inspired by chicken found at the Taipei night markets the chicken is big, flat, crispy and super tender. What’s more fun is you get a bag when you order it, and when your number’s called out they get you to present your bag so they can just shove the chicken right in!

Man, I heard about this a little while ago overseas didn’t know the have one here! How is it as a fried chicken compared to say Korean or Japanese style? I mean walking around with pretty much a giant schnitzel is reason enough to get one

It’s pretty different to your traditional Korean fried chicken in every way I reckon. Love the idea that you can’t sit and eat it (ie: street food) and that it even feels a little dirty (like street food). It’s big, it’s flat, and yup, it’s naughty walking down the road eating it out of a bag!

    DOOOOD!
i love Hot Star! seriously getting it weekly at the moment, at least. I have been trying to replicate their technique, but with no luck yet. (did end up with an amazing glutinous rice batter and seasoning)
