I took a gamble on this camera bag which I bought direct from Chrome Industries (I had to pay $70 shipping unfortunately) but it came in today, super fast shipping as I only bought it last week, and hot damn it’s an amazing bag. I absolutely fucking love it!

I’ll be using it as my every day bag from now on as it also fits my 15″ laptop into it’s own padded compartment. Love love love it. Love how it looks, love all the amazing compartments. So happy. Killer!

RIP H.R. Giger

hr_giger_desktop_1200x808_wallpaper-179171

RIP the amazing H.R. Giger. The very first art book I ever bought with my own money as a kid was an H.R. Giger book, which still sits on my bookshelf today. Some of the imagery in that book is pretty damn disturbing, so much so that I don’t even have to revisit it’s pages to conjure up the imagery in my mind!

Below is my homage to H.R. Giger. Some artwork I’ve created, inspired by the legend.

Goodbye SPAMVENTDOCUMENT

svd
Goodbye SPAMVENTDOCUMENT. You were awesome.

I’ve been running SPAMVENTDOCUMENT as my personal blog since 2008 (check out my first post here). I used to run a blog in the 90’s, even before Blogger was invented, back then we used to update our blogs by editing HTML and FTPing updated files.

A lot of technologies have advanced since the 90s (I used WordPress now and it’s awesome) but I still find blogging pretty much the same despite. Ultimately, I find blogging therapeutic, it’s just become something that I do. I spam, I vent and I document. I also like to be able to search back through my life, using the search field of-course, for certain images/events/memories.

So, no more “hiding” behind a funny name. On a whim I’ve decided to kill off SPAMVENTDOCUMENT and I’ve now moved everything to: http://www.justinfox.com.au. It feels better already!

Always awesome!

Lovely Mothers Day yesterday with the family. Baby Leo’s much bigger than I last saw him and Miles is speaking a lot more and stringing together whole sentences now (he’s so cheeky too!).

Really happy with the first shot of Miles. I’ve hardly had to edit it at all, pretty much looks the same straight off the camera. I was kneeling down, but had the screen flipped up (very cool) and I also set the camera to a mode where when I touched the image on the screen it would not only focus on that part of the image but take the shot as well (ie: no need to press any buttons at all!). Super surreal, but really quite fun to be honest! I think I’m going to like using all these little features of the GF6.

Dave’s BNR32

I took a few snaps of Dave’s BNR32 which is currently going through the World Time Attack Challenge approval process. We’ve got our fingers crossed that the car will be approved to race!

Found – Kid Paintings

Mum’s moving house and she’s been storing some stuff at my place mid-move. I came come and found these on my dining table. The dinosaur made with little pebbles stuck onto a masonite board brought a massive smile to my face as I still have a vague memory of making this in year 5. The other 3 pieces I have no memory of, so can’t tell how old I was when I painted them. The man under the sea is pretty interesting! I do remember digging Aquaman on the TV every morning as a kid?!

Old Town Hong Kong Cuisine

Quick service, decent food, great company! First time taking the GF6 out and about and pretty happy with it. Fit in my jacket pocket no worries, better in low light than the GF1 too. Read the manual today and found some pretty nifty functions to control the blurring of stuff in the background, and a few other things.

Korean BBQ!

Awww Mimi. Truly going to miss this beautiful girl. She’s leaving to go and live in Japan in a weeks time!

KBBQ! SO GOOD. It’s been a while!

PS: These images are the first images to come out of my new GF6! Ive come across a few issues with it already, but will go into more detail when I get to know it a little more.

Lumix GF6

My old GF1 on the left, my newly acquired GF1 (from eBay) in the middle and my new GF6 on the right.

Got to work today and there were lots of goodies on my desk. Of note my brand new GF6, and also another GF1 which I bought on eBay for a steal (it came with a very strange 15mm Olympic lens which I’ll most likely not finda use for at all, but I’m not complaining!).

I’ve since put my old 20mm pancake lens on the GF6, which doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as I thought it would. I actually think it looks quite retro cool and it’s a fair bit smaller and lighter too. I’m not digging the massive flip out screen on the back, when extended off the camera body it feels flimsy. I’m pretty sure it would be the first thing to break ifg I ever dropped the camera, and if I broke that the entire camera might not work as it’s a touch screen now.

Anyways, happy days shooting ahead! I’m psyched!
