Stella gifted me an anthurium!

And Nick and Mason brought me back a BNR32 from their China trip (that’s the 2nd I’ve gotten in a week as Khoa gifted me a Kyosho one last week!).

Calsonic! The inspiration behind my own R32 build.

And Paul gifted me my 3rd BNR32 in the space of 2 weeks! What’s going on?!

Dave, an old musician mate of mine just happened to be in traffic outside, saw the ZEN sign, and Cardo’s GT-R (thinking it was mine) and he though he’d drop in!

Nick, Mason and one very clean DC2R.

We rallied whoever was left over for a group shot. Great vibes, great people!
Such a rad ZEN EOMM today. Super chill and very reminiscent of the ZEN Saturdaze we used to host at 12-4PM every Saturday at our old Leichhardt store.

We Produced With Spartan Air. Original wheels, but what’s even more whack, they’re the original tyres from new!

Coffee table, complete with GT-R coffee table book.

Beers and a burger at High & Dry.
Our Melbourne based ZEN Photographer Curt is in town, and so too my car spotting cousin Anthony. Being Easter Weekend there wasn’t much going on but last minute I thought I’d try to get in touch with Road and Track, a showroom which is directly across the road from my place.
I’ve lived in Rosebery for 2 years now and I’ve spotted many amazing exotics in the area, all of which lead to Road and Track (test drives I assume!). The showroom always has some amazing cars on display, but it’s never open (appointment only), and they’re also closed on Sundays, so getting both Curt and Anthony in to shoot on Easter Sunday was going to be nigh impossible, but hey… the universe has been providing for me lately so I thought, why not, right?!
I sent an email using the online contact form on the Road and Track web site which explained what ZEN was about and that I had Curt and Anthony with me this Easter Sunday, and surprise surprise! I got an email back from Ross who was more than happy to let us in on Sunday!
Turns out Ross has been importing Japanese cars since the late 90’s, and he thought we’d be interested in shooting a very clean (understatement!) original Nismo R32 GT-R with only 800km’s on the clock rocking original tyres from new! Sounded too good to be true, but when we saw it, we became believers.
Day made! Enjoy these Behind The Scenes shots I took, and look out for a future feature with Curt and Anthony’s shots from the day.
Much thanks to Ross, sincerely, for letting us in. For more information on Road and Track; visit: www.roadandtrack.com.au

The GT-R Gods are looking down on me.
I got a message today from Chris Grech of CGR who is restoring my GT-R:
“So some cool insight on the R32 GT-R factory Nissan paint.
The paint we use at BMW and the paint company I’ll be using in the RB26 restoration is a German company called Glasurit.
Was speaking with a Galsurit rep today about the build. He sent me this thread on the GTR registry website: https://gtr-registry.com/en-bnr32-vin-table.php
They were done in Glasurit 55 line system from Nissan which is the exact system I’ll be using.
Pretty cool”.
What an awesome day (that ended at 2AM for me lol). So many faces I’ve not seen in 10+ years.
Thanks to all that came along. Seeing you guys wearing ZEN again blows my mind! Special thanks to Reggie for feeding us and Gi for running the ZEN shop.
I brought my camera, but as usual I failed to get any shots as I was talking too much!
Rad morning out at Cars with Coffee in Menai. Reggie picked me up in his NA, ahhhhh the memories. Such a rad car. Always miss mine.

Reggie made us Omurice! Delish!
Last week I was invited out to Cult & Classic to visit some old friends I’ve not seen in many many years.
Turns out Reggie who drove me out to the meet (was a bit of a road trip!) didn’t tell the others that I was going to be there, and man did it make for some funny and memorable reactions.
Jaws dropped, literally!
Was awesome to catch up with these lovely people. They’re all just so… nice! It makes me wonder whether we lost touch because I was in such a dark place.
Lots to chew on, or maybe not? Either way it was a great day out, lots of stories, lots of laughs, life’s good!
Today I was introduced to Nick Cummins of Electrogusto who convert classic cars to electric, and man they’ve got a lot of wild projects on the go. Visiting his shop in Petersham and meeting his crew brought back huge ZEN Leichhardt memories for me. It’s a grungy space; texture, grit, all juxtaposing against the super clean 356 Porsche tribute speedster and 1973 VW Type 3 squareback wagon found on the lot.
Jumping from project to project it’s evident that Nick is a ‘yes man’. Where my mechanics and I have struggled to fabricate parts to make my cars work, Nick and his crew just get down and make things happen. Whether it’s a 3D printed dashboard, console, custom switches or engine mounts, I get the feeling these guys can literally do anything (and that’s a rare thing!).
Was an absolute pleasure to meet Nick. The man is a unicorn and I feel blessed to have met another real one. I had no intentions of making a feature out of the visit, but I had my Ricoh GR in my pocket so I rattled off a few off-the-cuff shots. Would really love to revisit Nick with Nick (Turner) and shot more photos and some video too so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime check out the AMAZING short film on the Electrogusto web site: https://www.electrogusto.com.au
