VWGolf.net.au Pizza Night

Nath gave Christina and I this poster which he had a UK based illustrator design for us. The generosity of the VWG members never ceases to surprise me.

The meat came out quick and fast (!), maybe the fact that the big boss was sitting on our table had something to do with it?!

Group shot.

Lots of laughs as usual!

We had our monthly VWG “Pizza Night” at Churrasco in Coogee this month, a Brazilian style BBQ restaurant owned and run by one of our forum members. Byron had driven down from QLD for this weekend’s Need For Speed event, we’d been hanging out talking shit and drinking beers all day so loads of meat and good company turned out to be a great way to end the day.

Tastevin

Watch out for the tree! We thought we were going to be super early but finding a park in Darlinghurst proved nearly impossible! We ended up with a park 4 blocks away.

Felix.

Di.

Flamin’ Crepe Suzette! Being a Crepe Suzette fan I couldn’t resist!

Last night Suga and I were invited to dinner by Felix and Di. We’re going to be the MC’s at their wedding later this year and dinner was to introduce us to the bridal team (2 couples, nice people!).

Di chose Tastevin, a lovely little French restaurant in Darlinghurst. Everything was perfect from the very first impressions. Cozy atmosphere (very Pari!) and friendly service (Bonsoir!). The French bread (with French butter!) was so so so fresh, my steak was so good it reminded me of that scene in the Matrix…I know it’s not real but it’s so good I don’t care!

$50/person and up there with the best!

VWG Pizza night

I’ve had a few big dramas on the forums I run recently so it was a breath of fresh air to just get off the PC and head out to do some offline forum stuff.

The monthly VWGolf.net.au Pizza night was held at The Bavarian last night at Fox Studios. VWG’s developing a very clicky inner circle, heaps of laughs, great guys the lot of them.

Pho Tai!

Been a long time since I’ve ridden with the boys (very long time) but once I heard they were hooking up for dinner I was in without hesitation!

Night Noodle Markets

Last night Christina and I met up with some friends at the Night Noodle Markets in Hyde Park.

The idea of a night noodle market excites me. I instantly think of Singapore, but earlier last night I met one of Christina’s work mates at the pub who had bad things to say about last years event (long queues and food court quality food) and too right what a crap event it was.

The queues for the better known restaurant stalls were at least an hour long which forced us to queue up at stalls with smaller lines (still a 30 minute wait!). We ended up eating Himalayan food (which you can get at Paddington Markets every Saturday) and last night each plate of food was more than double the usual price ($15/plate!).

To top it off all of us came unprepared for a very cold night. I lost my Lumix GF1 lens cover (great) and at the Domain Carpark I was given $40 worth of change in coins! Lovely!

Lunch at Jamie’s

My sister put on a lunch yesterday for all of her (and Richie’s) pommy mates, and as usual she smashed it! Food was so good, she’s an awesome entertainer (wish I had some of that!). Some pics:

Oz and Dexter. My mate Oz is a real man now!

Dexter – Omnomnom!

Richie’s new Foxy beers!

Entree’s.

Home made icecream for dessert.

BBQ

We had a BBQ at ours yesterday. Unfortunately the weather was crap but the company was awesome. Here are a few random pics:

Our cheap BBQ worked a treat!

Group shot.

Kay’s rad boots.

It’s the me.

As much as we try not to work with friends, sometimes it can’t be avoided! Here’s Gen picking out a pantone colour for her new business card which Christina is designing.

Mia did so well with the crowd (and all the noise!). We’re so proud of her, she’s so good with people!

Nat + Mia love.

Gen’s new guy Matt did well meeting and mingling with everyone considering Christina’s mates are a very clicky group. He got overexcited when Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It” came on TV and broke one of our bentwood chairs though! I suppose we can forgive him just this once!

Jon – Superman Dat Hoe.

Pong table came out, must almost be that time of year again!

The couch crew.

BBQ!

Our new BBQ.

Yeah it’s a crap $129 job from Bunnings. I wanted to buy this everdure BBQ, more than twice the price but it looks sturdy and really easy to clean (and potentially easier to keep clean). Christina had some doubts about it though so in the end we went with the Jumbuck. Putting it together it was evident how crap it was, the screws are going to rust overnight, some of the heads on the bolts weren’t even welded on straight! Hopefully the weather’s going to be awesome tomorrow so we can put it to work. Despite the shitty BBQ I’m sure the food’s going to taste great!

Fratelli Fresh

Christina and I left a package in Nath’s car during Pizza night the other night and he kindly came over today to drop it off. There was another reason why he came over though, he wanted to show this off:

I heard him before he knocked on the door!

Made in Slovenia. It’s an Akrapovic exhaust. I just checked out their site, different!

Nath hadn’t had brekkie and Christina and I hadn’t had lunch so we thought we’d eat at Fratelli Fresh

Strange stuff: They had an entire wall dedicated to Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

Oils ain’t oils!

I had the meatball pasta. OMG too good. TOO GOOD! I’ve been on a high ever since. So so happy. So happy.

VWG Pizza Night

VWG Pizza night last night at Made in Italy. Small group of 9 but a lot of fun :)

Pre-dinner beers at The Gaelic Club.

Frenchie’s R36 wagon. Looking so good.

Wagon Mafia!

Polo pizza was great.

Nutella Pizza!

Nath took us in and AP took us home in his 500HP R32 turbo monster (which was surprisingly smooth).
