And we’re on again! Field Trip conference will be held at in Sydney on the 30th of August 2013 @ Monkey Baa in Darling Quarter.
If you’ve often wondered how the hell do creative people create the things they create, then Field Trip’s the conference for you. We invite our speakers to the stage to not only talk about where they’ve come from and what they do, but to actually show you, on the big screen, how they create their work from start to end (essentially giving away all their secrets!).
Tickets are on sale now, fingers crossed it’ll be another sell out event!

YAS-101 Yamaha Soundbar.
A while back I bought a cheap Kogan TV which was very much a “that’ll do” purchase at the time. It’s been OK except for it’s weak sound from it’s little in-built speakers (the sound so tinny and weak that max volume is hardly audible during some movies). I’ve been meaning to buy a sound system for it, just haven’t been motivated to until now.
I initially looked into a surround sound system, but really hated the idea of having ugly black boxes all over the room. Then I stumbled upon soundbars, the new thing it seems. Thin, minimalist.
I opted to get this YAS-101 Yamaha Soundbar because I trust the Yamaha brand, it was cheap and it was an all in one (ie: no separate sub box).
It came with an optical cable to connect directly to my Foxtel box (not sure how to get it to work with my DVD player, or Wii or Playstation though and my TV doesn’t have optical out) and within 5 minutes I was up and running.
The unit sits in front of the TV’s IR receiver but the remote control signal is relayed to the IR flasher on the back, ensuring the signal to the TV is unaffected and best of all I can make do without an additional remote control as this unit has a learning function which worked perfectly with my TV remote control (which now controls the volume and on/off of this unit).
Sound is better in every way. Rich and full of depth in comparison to the TV’s built-in speakers. It has a feature called “UniVolume” which maintains a constant volume, great for automatically reducing the volume of loud advertisements (so good). It’s also got a surround sound feature which works really well (tested on Snow White and the Huntsman which was on TV last night, sounded fantastic). Another feature is “Clear Voice” which does a great job of just increasing the volume and clarity of voices (worked a treat and tested whilst watching UFC!).
Melyssa Grace x Zen Garage Teaser from LumenEssence Productions on Vimeo.
What a treat! Daniel Karjadi & Edwin Lie of OFIM have put together this amazing time lapse video of last Saturday’s Melyssa Grace shoot at Zen Garage. I love it!

It’s the me.

It’s the Shi.
I had my house shot for Vauxlair today. I was a little nervous, and wasn’t exactly sure what to expect (I HATE being in front of the camera) so I thought I’d ask Miss Iris Shi if she’d keep me company during the shoot (which she did and I felt much better for it!).
Turns out the Vauxlair crew were rad and we all got along. I’m looking forward to seeing their pictures/feature.

Today we’ve got US Model/Drift Babe Melyssa Grace at Zen Garage for a photoshoot with select cars by Photographer Kelvin Ng. It’s a wet day, but the punters are out in full force. If you’re in Sydney, drop in! We’ll be wrapping up at 4pm.

Entertainment Quarter (formerly Fox Studios) car park was the first location for VWGolf.net.au’s inaugural meet and over the years it’s become a regular monthly spot for VWGolf.net.au members.
Despite the horrible weather tonight, the troops came out to meet and greet. I took a few snaps last night, they’re all up on Zen Garage: http://zengarage.com.au/2013/06/fox-studios-regular-vag-meet

Whilst I was test driving the wide-body M3 last Friday Betty was at Zen getting some shots taken with Jonno’s MX-5 (lovingly named BBE77Y). Was sad to not be there during the shoot, but was super happy when I got home later that night to find the boys and Betty at my place for what ended up being a great Friday night in!

Got width?
Last Friday afternoon I was handed the keys to this beast. A wide-body M3 which is supercharged too. I can’t say too much right now, but check out my facebook page, or instagram for more images.
